Huashida's Reinforced Heat Shrinkable Tape Equipment Solves Normal Use Problems in Russia's Extremely Cold Conditions
12 23, 2025

Addressing the severe challenges posed by pipeline repair work in Russia's frigid winter environment (minus 60°C), Qingdao Huashida Machinery Co., Ltd. has successfully provided a reliable solution.

The company invested in dedicated research and development, successfully developing a four-roller horizontal reinforced heat shrinkable tape equipment and matching high-performance hot melt adhesive. The reinforced heat shrinkable tape produced by this solution significantly improves mechanical strength through a fiber reinforcement layer, achieving a tensile strength of over 20MPa, and can resist soil stress and construction impacts. Its core strength lies in solving the problems of adhesive loss and material brittleness at low temperatures, ensuring strong adhesion (≥50N/cm) within an extreme temperature range of -60°C to 80°C, without long-term delamination or cracking.

After heat shrinking, the repair joint adheres tightly to the pipeline substrate, with no gaps or leaks. Salt spray corrosion resistance exceeds 1000 hours, and its protective performance is comparable to the pipeline base material, achieving the goal of the repair joint's lifespan being synchronized with the pipeline. This achievement is attributed to the collaborative research and development efforts between Huashida and universities such as Beijing University of Chemical Technology, which ultimately solved the pipeline connection and corrosion prevention problems faced by Russian customers under extremely cold conditions.
